ICAN and WASL partners will be present at the 63rd Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) taking in New York March 11-22, 2019.
 
Please join ICAN, WASL, the Kroc IPJ and its Women Waging Peace members on Wednesday, March 13 at 2:30 at the Salvation Army (downstairs), 221 E 52nd street for Exploring: How Do We Build More Gender Inclusive and Effective Peace Processes.
WASL member Fatima Al Bahadly, Director of the Iraqi Al Firdaws Society, will be a featured speaker, sharing her ground breaking work on deradicalization, peacebuilding and conflict resolution in Basra.
 
 
The priority theme for this year’s CSW is Social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls; and the review theme is Women’s empowerment and the link to sustainable development. On the sidelines of the official intergovernmental negotiations, side events and parallel events are organized by Member States, UN agencies and civil society.
